Your Google My Business profile is key to owning and operating a business in the 21st century. If you’ve already claimed and verified your profile, you’re now spending your time optimizing your profile to ensure you rank at the top of Google when someone searches for you.
Our biggest piece of advice? Don’t be one of the many agents who ignore a key piece of the Google business puzzle: Google reviews.
Reviews are what make or break your profile. Even if you have all the photos and business-specific info in the world attached to your profile, a profile with no reviews can have serious consequences for your business, from lost trust to lost leads. That extends to Google, too, which gives a bump to profiles with positive Google reviews.
REACHING OUT TO PAST CLIENTS
For every home you’ve listed or sold, there’s a success story just beneath the surface. After all, your clients chose to list or buy with you for your expertise and demeanor.
Don’t be scared to reach out to satisfied clients and ask for a review. Make sure to emphasize that it will only take a few seconds of their time, and make sure to include a link to your Google business profile. Make it as easy as possible for your clients to leave you a review.
Once you’ve closed a deal, incorporate asking for a Google review into your wrap-up process. If your clients are happy, they’ll be eager to help your business — just drive home the impact that a simple review can have on your business.
GO BEYOND CLIENTS
It’s hugely impactful to gather reviews from satisfied former clients, but don’t feel obligated to stick with only clients as reviewers. There are plenty of other people in your sphere who can speak to your character.
Don’t hesitate to ask a colleague or a family member or a friend to leave a positive review. That simple act can bring you renewed visibility and boost the number of leads coming in from your Google business profile.
So what are you waiting for? It’s time to get some new reviews on your Google business profile!
